Sharp to launch first 4K BIG PAD at ISE 2018

Warsaw, 18-12-2017
At Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2018, Sharp will launch its first BIG PAD interactive display with a 4K LCD touch panel. The 70” 4K BIG PAD (PN-70TH5) adds to Sharp’s award-winning range of displays for sharing information in meetings and lessons and will be on sale from February 2018.

Sharp will present meeting room and digital signage solutions, plus its vision for an 8K ecosystem at stand E76 / Hall 12

Sharp’s newest BIG PAD makes it easy to view large amounts of detailed information, such as technical drawings, maps or spreadsheets. Special features support working with content at Ultra-HD resolution: 4K reading is supported by Sharp’s unique UV2A screen technology for high contrast and image clarity, and 4K writing is supported by a range of features including palm rejection, so your palm doesn’t make marks on the screen when you are writing, and a modified pen with a 2mm tip for precision.

Sharp is a pioneer of interactive whiteboard technology and its latest BIG PAD is part of a fifth generation of products.

Sid Stanley, General Manager, Visual Solutions, said: “With our unique experience we understand the needs of our customers. Selecting the right interactive whiteboard to suit your needs should be a considered decision. Not all interactive whiteboards are made equal.”

“To highlight why interactive whiteboards should be carefully chosen, consider the important role they play in the meeting room. Meetings take up a lot of time – 17 hours a month for every worker in the UK according to our research – so they need to be as productive as possible. Across Europe, there is a demand for meetings to be more engaging, more inclusive, and more productive, and Sharp is offering a range of easy-to-use tools that deliver the benefits of better decision making and collaboration.”

New research from Sharp1, to be issued in 2018, found that the average office worker attends 21 meetings a month, totaling 17 hours of their time, but a staggering 85% said they would have been more productive at their desks.

Half of Sharp’s ISE stand will be devoted to its broad range of interactive and non-interactive displays for meetings rooms. The range includes something for every type of usage, whether it’s looking at technical content, where precise writing and exceptional ease-of-use is critical (4K BIG PAD) or having a brainstorming meeting where easy annotation and sharing of content is what is needed (BIG PAD for huddle spaces).

Eight interactive displays will be on show including the 40” and 50” BIG PADs for huddle spaces, and the 70” BIG PAD with wireless sharing capabilities for demanding applications. All Sharp BIG PAD displays offer a Pen-on-Paper experience, an instant and accurate writing feel close to using a real pen on writing paper.

Sharp’s range of non-interactive professional displays include the versatile 70” PN-R which can be installed in portrait, landscape, face-up and facing downwards and the full PN-Q range of high quality but cost-effective displays available up to ultra-large 90”, offering customers a greater choice over the best large format display for their space.

At ISE, Sharp will also preview its 8K ecosystem, including a demonstration of its new 8K professional camcorder and 8K display. The 8C-B60A 8K (60p) professional camcorder, a world’s first, integrates capabilities for video shooting and recording, playback, and line output. These devices form the basis for Sharp’s R&D work on an 8K ecosystem, and at ISE Sharp will be welcoming feedback from partners about potential AV business applications.

Sharp’s stand will include a full range of smart digital signage solutions and the Sharp Open Architecture Platform. The Platform combines new Sharp hardware and software with technology from Sharp’s alliances with independent signage software providers. Announcements about Sharp’s signage solutions will be made at the show.
