Sharp launches first interactive display for huddle spaces (Stand 12/E76)
Sid Stanley, General Manager, Visual Solutions, comments, “The way organisations hold meetings is evolving. Meetings can now be more informal, and require versatile technology that is quick to set up, easy to use and that supports personal devices and tablets. Meetings need to be up and running within 30 seconds, whether people are wirelessly sharing content to discuss or using video collaboration. Our response is to broaden our award-winning BIG PAD range, taking its team-working benefits out of the formal meeting room and into the rest of the office.”
Writing on the PN-40TC1 touchscreen LCD monitor feels natural due to its responsive and accuracy, which Sharp describes as its ‘Pen-on-Paper’ experience. This is partly due to the inclusion of P-Cap Capacitive touch, similar to the touch technology found on smartphones and tablets, and Sharp Pen Software .
Sharp Display Connect software means that everyone can connect via their mobile or tablet device. The connection is not limited to mirror casting content from one device to another, but also supports touch-based interactivity, for example making notes, and directly working on content on a personal device or BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) via gesture and touch control from the host PN-40TC1 display.
An integrated Mini OPS extension slot lets you add extra functions, for example by inserting an optional Wireless Board mobile devices such as laptops or tablets can then be wirelessly connected to share content and control functions, without the need for any cables. Mini OPS is a newer and smaller version of the popular OPS (Open Pluggable Specifications) format and has been developed by Sharp and Intel.
Combined with Sharp’s Video Collaboration solution, the PN-40TC1 can be used to host an online collaborative meeting with whiteboard, video and voice, with participants able to share and annotate their interactive display session. Up to four remotely located BIG PAD displays can be connected as standard, and people can also join the session via their desktops or smart mobile devices.
The PN-40TC1 can be installed in landscape, portrait, or horizontal mode and can be attached to an optional stand with wheels making it easy to move. It is suitable for a range of installations in addition to the office, including interactive retail signage or as an interactive whiteboard in schools.
