Sharp expands thin-film production: second generation of solar thin film cells in mass production
With the installation of a second production line in the solar cell factory in Katsuragi, Japan, Sharp is increasing its thin-film production to 160 megawatts per annum. The technology leader has now begun to manufacture thin-film solar cells of the second generation at this site. Sharp has successfully increased the module efficiency, while maintaining high cost-effectiveness.
Sharp committed to variety in LCD TV market with screen diagonals, functions and colours
LCD pioneer Sharp is launching the new AQUOS DX-series TVs. These bring together the latest in display technologies and one of the company’s other core competencies – Blu-ray. Each of the new TVs incorporates a Blu-ray recorder. The DX series will initially be available on the Japanese and US markets in three different colour variants and with screen diagonals from 26 to 52 inches inclusive.
